Sunday Evening Youth Programs

The youth of Beneva Christian Church are vibrant, active members of our church community.  Our youth program is open to anyone from kindergarten through 12th grade.  All age groups combine Biblical study, service to community, and fun.  We meet on Sunday evenings from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a snack supper from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.

Kindergarten - 1st Grade

Mr.Tim and Miss Rea are in charge of the Genesis group for kindergartners and 1st graders.  This group focuses on introducing the Bible via games, ideas and activities.  Recently, we completed a project that will benefit our food pantry patrons.

2nd Grade - 5th Grade

Mr.Greg and Miss Olevia lead the 2^nd graders through 5^th graders.  Because of Miss Olevia’s fondness for science, this group will see the Bible come to life through experiments and getting out into the outside world.

Middle - High School

The CYF group, led by Miss Corry, is a combined middle and high school group. Not only is the focus on learning about faith, but also how to live it out in daily life.  We work with the food pantry on campus, but additionally there is involvement with local non-profit organizations and outreach.  However, it’s not all work!  The youth make an annual trek to Rock the Universe or Night of Joy in September.  Other recent outings include attending the Jigsaw leadership conference at our Camp and Conference Center in Ocala and the Revolve tour in Orlando.  There is participation in interdenominational activities and we host events that are open to the public, for example, the Church's annual Breakfast with Santa and the Easter Egg Hunt.

Summertime Programs (all ages)

Summer is just as busy for the youth of Beneva Christian Church, with lock-ins for the middle and high school group and Camp Beneva for elementary-age youth.  And just so the high schoolers and middle schoolers don't get bored and lose touch, we get together for “Thursday Night Chill”, a time to play games, listen to music, and just hang out.

Holiday Events (all ages)

All age groups participate in our yearly Live Nativity on December 22^nd, 23^rd, and 24^th.  This has been a long-standing tradition at Beneva Christian Church and is one of our most important evangelizing activites.  Additionally, we plan to participate in the Sarasota Downtown Association's annual holiday parade this year.
